2026 IBF Barn Tour: Montgomery Co., Saturday, October 10
Spend a fall day exploring Montgomery County’s historic barns on the 2026 Indiana Barn Foundation barn tour! This self-guided driving tour invites you to hit the back roads, enjoy the October countryside, and experience the barns and craftsmanship up close. The tour will feature six barn locations, including the "Go Huskers” barn from the movie Hoosiers.
The annual tour offers a rare opportunity to step inside privately owned historic barns that are not typically open to the public. Along the route, barn owners and volunteers will share the stories behind these architectural treasures, highlighting their history, craftsmanship, preservation efforts, and the families who have cared for them through generations.
Some locations along the route will have portable restrooms, and some will have food trucks with food for sale.
Advance barn tour tickets are $20 for IBF members or $25 for non-members. Children 16 and under are free. Tickets may be purchased online until 5 p.m. on October 9th at the member/non-member price.
Tickets the day of the tour will be $25 for all and available in-person at Waynetown Christian Church, 101 W Walnut St., Waynetown, IN, which will serve as the day-of tour headquarters. Tour happens rain or shine. Those who pre-register should start their tour at the church to pick up maps and wristbands.
The Indiana Barn Foundation's Annual Barn Tour is the organization's signature fundraising event, with proceeds supporting statewide barn preservation through education, advocacy, grants, and public awareness programs. The Foundation's mission is to preserve Indiana's historic barns and inspire appreciation for their cultural, architectural, and agricultural significance.
