2024 Barn Preservation Grants Awarded

The Indiana Barn Foundation has awarded four grants for 2024 for the Barn Preservation Grant. The Foundation annually awards at least two matching grants for $2500 each, obligating the recipients to match that amount from their own funds, funds from another source, or in-kind labor.

Congratulations to all and thank you for your willingness to save your barns!

The 2024 Recipients are:

Troy & Amber Shipper of Roann/Wabash County

The Shippers had already accomplished extensive repairs to their early 20th century T-Plan bank barn in Miami County, and will use the grant and matching funds to complete work to install windows where the originals were removed, add ventilation, repair foundation failures, and seal and paint the roof and siding.

Ongoing work will include completing the rehabilitation to match the original as closely as possible.
