"When at my home in Southern Indiana, I live in a restored 1866 log barn. The spirit of the barn builders and the succeeding farm families seem to fill the rooms and enrich our lives. Whenever I see a tumbling down barn in an open field, I feel the loss of this experience for future Hoosiers. It is often hard to realize the value of everyday working things. It is the showy buildings and happenings that often stand out in our memories. But, it is the common artifacts, work tools and chores that have had the greatest impact on who we are today.I am so grateful that the Indiana Barn Foundation and Indiana Landmarks are working together to bring awareness to the value of old barns and the need to protect them. I am glad to help with their mission." Judy O'Bannon.
